iPod Video

Posted in Distractions by Gregory on the October 12th, 2005

Ooo… ooo you bastards! Remember when video iPods weren’t going to happen? Yeah… that’s all changed, much like a flash based iPod (the nano) this is now a reality. I had just about convinced myself into getting a nano (I don’t own any Apple gear atm)… but now I have a real choice to make. Utter, utter bastards.

I’d suggest getting an iMac; no decision is needed there ;-)

    I have a PowerMac G5 and a 23″ Apple LCD, and I’m eyeing the new iMacs longingly…

Oh if I was going to buy a mac desktop I’d get a mini - as I’m too PC dependant at home.

However I use a G5 tower at work with the cinema display. That is such a nice piece of kit. the new iMac G5, fits that profile nicely too… if I had that ammount of money to drop on kit like that.

However I’ll be stretching to an iPod soon I think. The question is which one?!

the choice is made simple by what you are gonna use it for. If your gonna listen and watch on the train 98%of the time get the video one with a huge HDD.

If its for running around and doing stuff that jogs get the nano. ( i found out in the middle of a 10 mile run on the weekend that a normal ipod doesnt like to be bumped up and down alot)

personally id get the video, if not just for the geek factor.

alternatively you can buy my old one for £140 and ill buy a new one! haha.

I tend not to run - I’m more of a bike person. I’m leaning towards the video, but really I think I’ll wait until I can get one in my hand before I decide.
