Touched v2 Update
Thought I’d update you all on how things are going with Touched development.
I’ve got the new interface working, which functionally is much like Flickr, and I’m just ironing out bugs before it hits a beta phase. Remember that to get this to work I’ll be requiring the basic structure I recomended in Making Friendly Templates (there’s really no other way to get that kind of functionality).
So, on that note, before I release this I want to have a closed beta test — if you are interested drop me a line in the comments and I’ll get to you when I have a beta version to send to you.
I was really surprised and.. well… touched by the response to the original version of the plugin. I really want to make sure Touched v2 is much better, and much closer to bug free than Touched was, and this is your chance to help.

I’d love to beta test it. Also, if you have the time and inclination, you can run over the K2 structure and critique it if you will

I’ll do my best
I’ll stick it on my test site that I’m running the dev version of Touched on. That should give it a good live test
I’ll mail you when I’ve a beta to send out.

Any news on this? I’d so love to support it for K2.

Sort of stalled due to deadline hell at work. I’ve been leaving at 8am and getting back at 10-11pm, so not really had any time to move from alpha into beta. Or to help test K2. Or to update this site (as you may have noticed!)
However the plan is for that hell to be over by friday, so the weekend will be spent getting a beta ready for emailing to… well you mostly! No-one else commented!

Just by any chance, would the custom fields issue be fixed? Currently, I think, if there’s a plugin that shows an interface for changing a custom field, all custom fields get wiped. The tags plugin, for example.
Otherwise I can’t wait, looking forward to it.

Jon - yes it will, the reason it does that is pretty simple, and shouldn’t happen in v2 at all. It was to do with how I passed data back into WP, and I’m doing it rather differently this time around (and better I hope!).

I just noticed all of the alt-text links (when you mouse-over a URL, it gives some other text in a little pop-up) are different than the standard ones!
Is this a custom script, or is there a guide I can read to learn how it’s done? Thanks. This all looks great!

I’d like to help out with testing the beta.

I would love to help test!
My theme started with Kubrick but has come a long way since then, and my themes are notorious for bringing out the bugs in various different browsers. Lemme at it as soon as you’re ready!

Excellent to know! Time is at a minimum atm, so I’m trying to get it done in the limited time I have. Slow work, but I’ll email you all when I have a version available to download

I’d definitely be interested in helping out with the beta of this. Let me know if/when you are interested.
And thanks for the original version, to begin with.

Currently: support for WordPress v2 is done and dusted. It’s 1.5 that is giving me the issues. I’m thinking about spliting it up into two plugins: a tidied up version of Touched for 1.5 (say, called Touched 1.5) and then a final, full bells and whistles version for WP2.0.

How’s the development on this plugin going? I would love to see an update, or to try out the beta. What I would like to see most is a way for it to work with pages as well.

Curious if v2 is close to release…

I’m also curious… Is it going to be released soon, and does it allow editing of pages?
Thanks for the great work!

Seen as this was over a year ago, any progress?

Has there been any more development on this plugin. The page that contains the development isn’t available anymore.
